Evangelism in the Tigray Orthodox Tewahedo tradition is the sacred mission of sharing the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ — not only through words but through lives of prayer, fasting, and faithful service to the community.
The Ethiopian and Tigray Orthodox Church has been spreading the Christian faith since the 4th century, when Ethiopia became one of the first nations to adopt Christianity as its state religion. This ancient tradition of sharing the faith continues in our community in Melbourne today.
We welcome all — whether Orthodox faithful, newcomers to the faith, or those seeking to learn about the Tigray Orthodox Tewahedo tradition. Our doors are always open for those who wish to explore our ancient Christian heritage.
Regular sermons and teachings drawn from the Holy Scriptures, the writings of the Church Fathers, and the rich theological tradition of the Oriental Orthodox Church — delivered in Tigrinya, Ge'ez, and English.
We serve the Tigray Orthodox community in Melbourne and across Australia — supporting newcomers, preserving our cultural and spiritual heritage, and connecting families to the life of the church.
Evangelism begins in the home and in the heart. We provide resources, guidance, and community support to help families raise their children in the Orthodox faith and pass on the heritage of our forefathers.
