የኣቢነት ትምህርት — Traditional Orthodox Education
Ye'abinet Timhirt (የኣቢነት ትምህርት) is the traditional ecclesiastical education system of the Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church — one of the oldest continuous education systems in the world, dating back more than 1,500 years.
The word "Abinet" refers to the traditional Orthodox school system led by a learned church scholar (Abbot or Yeneta), where students receive deep instruction in the sacred language of Ge'ez, church music, theology, and the rich literary tradition of the Orthodox faith.
This is not simply a language or cultural class — it is a sacred pathway through which generations of Orthodox Christians have received the full inheritance of their faith, transmitted directly from teacher to student as it has been for centuries.
The ancient liturgical language of the Orthodox Tewahedo Church — the language of the Holy Bible, prayers, and sacred texts. Students learn Ge'ez script, reading, pronunciation, and comprehension of the liturgical texts used in worship.
